We are beginning Week 22: Early Westward Expansion and Explorers

Chapter 11- Lesson 3: Texas and the Mexican War

Chapter 11 Lesson 4: Moving West/Oregon Trail

I created a Quizlet for students to use to study their history vocabulary. Please have them go online and practice using the flashcards and games. Vocabulary is a HUGE portion of their tests in history and I want to make sure they do their best.

Students will be issued textbooks in class and also weekly newspapers. The newspapers are to be kept in their binder at all times.

BELOW YOU WILL FIND ALL OF THE DATES FOR THE STATES AND CAPITALS TESTS:

Students will need to know the LOCATION of each state on the map. 

 ALL OF THE STATES/CAPITALS TEST WILL BE LOCATED ON A BLANK MAP

 Southeast Region Test:  January 23 (TAKEN)

 Southeast and Northeast Region:  February 15 (TAKEN)

 Southeast/Northeast/Midwest: March 8 (taken)

 Southeast/Northeast/Midwest/RockyMountains/Pacific: April 8

All 50 States and Capitals: May 3

Chapter 6: Weather

Students that have not made up online quizzes will be given a chance to do so. They will have points deducted for late completion. Please check with your child to make sure that when they log on, they have NO ASSIGNMENTS that need to be completed.

Students will have homework assignments that are both online and in the science book. To log in online, please visit pearsonrealize.com.

Students will keep their textbooks in the class unless homework is assigned.
