1st Grade: Trammell & Howell  
Activity Date: 1/8/2019

All classes will be going over class rules, procedures, expectations, tornado, fire, and intruder drills.

 

Skill Development:  Apply varied effort and pathways to running, jumping, and throwing.

Activities:  Practice locomotor skills, relays, bean bag activities, hula hoop games, follow the leader, etc.

Resources:  Teacher demonstration

Assessments:  Teacher observation, show and tell

Skill Development:  Demonstrate manipulative and traveling skills in game situations.

Activities:  Relays, tag games, keep it up, jump rope activities, pin dodgeball, stations, etc.

Social Development:  Demonstrate responsibility and cooperative skills in physical activity settings by helping peers, assisting the teacher, and sharing space and equipment. 

Activities:  Partner activities, Wii Just Dance, locomotor games, playground safety, obstacle course, etc.

2nd Grade: Roberts, Wynn, & Reed  
Activity Date: 1/8/2019

All classes will be going over class rules, procedures, expectations, tornado, fire, and intruder drills.

On inclement weather days, all classes will participate in "Too Good for Drugs" and "Too Good for Violence" lessons.

Skill Development:  Demonstrate leaping and jumping skills by transferring and absorbing body weight in different ways.

Activities:  Jump rope skills, relays, jump the river, pin dodgeball, follow the leader, etc.

Resources:  Teacher demonstration

Assessments:  Teacher observation, show and tell

Skill Development:  Display basic jump roping skills.

Activities:  Jump rope skills (long and short), going to school, etc.

Social Development:  Demonstrate safety rules for physical education activities including games that require implements and tag games that have designated boundaries.

3rd Grade: Perkins & Banks

All classes will be going over class rules, procedures, expectations, tornado, fire, and intruder drills.

 

Skill Development:  Demonstrate long rope jumping skills by traveling in and out of a long rope without hesitation and executing consecutive jumps.

Activities:  Going to school, double dutch, jump rope stunts, etc.

Resources:  Teacher demonstration

Assessments:  Teacher observation, show and tell

Cognitive Development:  Utilize a variety of locomotor and manipulative skills to create new, or modify existing games.

Activities:  Soccer-kickball, 2-ball soccer, over the net, pin dodgeball, tag games, four square, etc.

4th Grade: Junco, Lapp, & Jones (boys)  
Activity Date: 1/8/2019

All classes will be going over class rules, procedures, expectations, tornado, fire, and intruder drills.

 

Skill Development:  Perform multicultural rhythmic dances, including introductory square dance.

Activities:  Cha Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle, Wii Just Dance, square dance steps, etc.

Resources:  Teacher demonstration

Assessments:  Teacher observation, show and tell

Cognitive Development:  Identify formations and steps associated with dance.

Activities:  Line dances, Wii Just Dance, ball room steps, etc.

Resources:  Teacher demonstration, discussion

Physical Activity and Health:  Identify devices used to measure cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength and endurance, body composition, and flexibility.

Activities:  Static stretching, exercises, ultimate frisbee, flag football, etc.

5th Grade: Schloss, Myers, McKay, Sims (boys)  
Activity Date: 1/8/2019

Skill Development:  Execute single and dual long rope activities and stunts.

Activities:  Going to school, jump rope stunts, double dutch, etc.

Cognitive Development:  Describe relationships among strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination in successfully executing physical activities.

Activities:   Obstacle course, ultimate frisbee, flag football, four square, etc.

Physical Activity and Health:  Categorize physical activities according to their most beneficial health-related fitness component.

Activities:   Fitness stations, ultimate frisbee, flag football, lifelong activities, etc.

6th Grade: Fussell, Smith, McKinley, Short (boys)

Skill Development:  Combine a variety of skills into sequenced routines.  Integrating fundamental movement and specialized skills into student choreographed routines.

Activities:  Ultimate frisbee, flag football, tag, crazy relays, four square, etc.

Assessments:  Teacher observation, show and tell, tournaments

Cognitive Development:  Modify physical activities, games, and sports to meet specific criteria.

Activities:  2-ball soccer, soccer-kickball, airball, frisbee-baseball, flag football, ultimate frisbee, etc.

Physical Activity and Health:  Identify possible injuries resulting from improper exercise routines.
