This Week`s Schedule...

2019-April

This week's assignments:  April 29th- May 3rd, 2019

(DAILY ASSIGNMENTS ARE BELOW)

PLEASE CHECK THE "SOCIAL STUDIES DATES" TAB FOR STATES QUIZ DATES

This is our very 33rd week of school!  The classroom expectations will be very high for the entire school year. Students who do not turn-in COMPLETED homework will be advised to sign the behavior log and will also be required to fill out a homework sheet explaining WHY they did not complete the homework.  Not having homework can harm a students grade since many of the assignments will have to be turned in or used to study for tests.  Every day a daily assignment is late, points will be taken away from the students final grade on that particular assignment (up to -20 points/ equivalent to 4 days late).   Projects count as a major grade and will be given throughout the year, many will be IN-CLASS with only a few will be done at home.  Projects must be turned in by the due date, no late projects will be accepted without an excused absence.

In math this week, we will continue Topic 15/16:Polygons/ Coordinate Grids.. With this chapter, most of the work will NOT come from the textbook.  Please make sure your child is at school daily as we are getting close to the end and there is a very limited time to make up work during this nine weeks. There will be a project this nine weeks on coordinate grids.

In history, we will begin Chapter 11: Oregon Trail. All information for the next test will come from Studies Weekly 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20.  All vocabulary will be given in class so students will need to copy words and definitions.

In science, we will begin Chapter 6: Astronomy/Planets we will be working with STEM this week and next week.  There will be a project coming home this week for this chapter which will mostly be completed AT SCHOOL! Late projects will NOT be accepted! The textbook is also accessible online at pearsonrealize.com and students will have their username and password in their science textbooks.  Some science activities will be ONLINE, so they will need to have internet access.  Please let me know if you do not have internet access.

I will post information every week so that everyone will have an insight on what to expect for the week.  Again my expectations from week 1 through week 36 will be very high!  Let's all work as a T.E.A.M.  so that our children will have an exciting and prosperous 5th grade school year!

Have a great week!

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!
